a sweeter way

Aside

You loved so much you swear you heard

the flesh of your heart rip with each breath

of goodbye on their lips.

You saw imprinted within your eyelids

their name blazing across fiery synapses

of liquid gold blood.

You felt the dark dead cells in your pores

die once more into stone particles

as a love left your soul.

You loved so much that once they went

sleeping was a sweeter way to continue living

than being awake.

Roam with me

I want to roam in a field of tall wheat coloured grass in a sun dress and pick blackberries and have a purple tongue and kiss you with it.

Down by the river I shall bathe in the water, you will wait on the grass bank ready to wrap me in a blanket and stroke my hair. I shall pick you wild flowers of pink, purple & yellow. Our fingers entwine like the branches of fir trees above our heads, sunburnt love.

With purple lips, thorns in our toes, we will wander until the night sky tosses the southern cross in to view and we take each others breath away
